Did Your Dad, Grandpa or Uncle Love the Outdoors?

"When good men die, who loved the outdoors,
all of nature stands waiting for you to remember them."

Outdoorsmen bring a special zest to life. They honor the woods, the lakes, campgrounds and hiking paths with their presence. They get up early to troll for catfish and cast for bass.

They sit in duckblinds waiting for sunrise and the sound of wings overhead. They huddle in trees during deer hunting season. They take a stroll in the dusky afternoon, when the sun gets low in the sky and a calm covers the waters and a hush falls in the woods.

If you have lost your dad, or uncle, grandpa, brother or nephew, or even a friend, who loved being on the lake or in the woods, you can honor his memory and his life with the gift of a TreeGivers.com Memorial Tree.

The Story of Frank's Trees

Let me tell you a story. My uncle Frank was an outdoorsman and a sportsman. He loved to hunt, to fish, to be out in nature. He took his dogs with him to our cabin in northern Wisconsin during summer and fall.

During his day job, Frank sold insurance. But his secret life was to enjoy the great outdoors. We all knew that Frank was having the time of his life when he went to the north woods to be outdoors. Dad and Frank would go fishing and enjoy the serenity of being with nature.

When his two daughters Steph and Nat were little girls, they planted two small pine trees on the small hill next to our cabin. Every summer, after they drove 300 miles to the cabin, the girls would jump out of Frank's car and run with delight to see how the trees had grown since last year. After twenty years, those pine trees had grown tall and took their rightful place in the northern woods.

A few years ago, Dad sold the cabin. The trip was too far; Dad was aging and couldn't keep up with the repairs. Another family took it over. The two pine trees stayed on the land with the cabin that the new family now owned.

Frank eventually contracted Parkinson's Disease in his early 70's and died. The two pine trees stood as a salute to our Grandpa who built the cabin and Frank the dad who took his girls there.

Trees Make Life Better, Just Like Your Dad Did

To remember an outdoorsman is to honor the great outdoors with a memorial tree.

Trees grow and live a long time. Trees refresh the earth with oxygen. Trees protect the soil from erosion, even mudslides. Trees give shade to a family picnic, and provide a home for birds to nest.

America needs more good trees just like it needs more good outdoorsmen, like your loved one strived to be. Forest fires, lightening, and over harvesting deplete our state and national forests. New trees bring new life and restore what was lost. Nature is renewed through new trees.

Why TreeGivers.com is the Best Place to Buy

There is one place where you can buy a memorial tree that will make a big difference to honor the outdoors. TreeGivers.com

TreeGivers began in 1981 when a small group gathered for a memorial service for a family member.

One person suggested planting a tree as a living memorial and soon others wanted trees planted. A company was born, a company of caring people, who wanted anyone who was grieving a deceased loved one to feel hope and the promise of new life.

Since then, TreeGivers.com has planted hundreds of thousands of young trees on public lands in all 50 states of the United States and in International Tree Planting countries as part of their reforestation programs.
